Education Report

The last of the 2011 4th qtr BEEs (Roses, Swedish Naversom and Cleopatra's Cat) were registered last month. Also the 2012 2nd qtr BEEs ( Assisi, Spring Splendor, and Sashiko Plum Blossom) were registered. The starting time for these classes is July 1st. The books have started to arrive for some of the courses and Yahoo Groups were set up by Julie Baumler.

We are in the process of getting the six 3rd qtr BEEs registered. The start date for these classes is September 1st. The books should start arriving sometime in August. If anyone has moved recently please let me know so your book does not end up at your old address.

A new project will soon be posted in the CyberStitcher's Own Projects SIG. These are small projects that have been created by our own very talented designers.

The Education Committee is made up of Cindy Steinhoff, Ellen Hartman, Julie Baumler and myself with support from Kathie Morrison, Meg Welch and Rissa Peace Root.

We welcome any suggestions or ideas that you might have to enhance your education experience so feel free to email me directly. I look forward to hearing from you.

Respectfully submitted,

Ellen Sedlak
Education Chairperson

SAM:

Whether you have been a member for years or just joined our Stitch-A-Month Group, welcome. Stitch-a-Month is a systematic curriculum in counted thread needlework developed by the Vintage EGA group and purchased by the Cyberstitchers Chapter for its members. It begins with the basics and advances to intricate stitches. Stitches are studied in family groups so you can take fundamental skills and apply them to complex stitches built on the same foundation. You will need Adobe Acrobat reader on your computer to open the files for viewing or printing. If you need to download Adobe Acrobat you can do so by going to https://acrobat.adobe.com/us/en/acrobat/pdf-reader.html and following the download buttons and directions.

Don't forget, there are CC's available to us inexpensively via Needle Arts magazine or online at the EGA website.

BAM:

BAM is Bead-a-Month and grew out of a SAM, Stitch-a-Month, program we purchased for several years. Our own Rissa picked up with BAM when SAM ran out of new files. All diagrams are maintained in the CS-Stitch-A-Month yahoogroup. Look in the Files section in the Folder labeled "Files for BAM". If you are not a member of the CS-Stitch-A-Month group but would like to be, send an email to:
