This was stitched by Margaret St. John. She says, "...it is the Saphire Dragon Gem freebie by Dragon Dream's Jennifer Aikman-Smith. All I did was change all the blue colors to purples, added the yellow background and a border. |
By Kelly. "I learned to weave on a loom specifically for this project and wove my own cloth (twill weave and basketweave for the center band, purple/natural cotton fibers), with a stitchable band in the middle, running the height of the piece, rather than the length. The cloth is about a yard wide and approx. 2' tall. The stitched bands all come from three charts, all in magazines. I picked the bands I liked, picked five different shades of purples and yellows to stitch them with, then laid them out in the order I wanted and stitched them up. They use nearly the entire stitch band side to side and top to bottom, with enough of an allowance to sew together along the long side. This piece will cover a bolster pillow, with the ends tied rather than sewn. It's going to look like a big purple/yellow Jolly Rancher, with the little pieces at the end that you pull to open it up." |
This one is by Liz Reen. |
Mavia's Pansies, stitched by Mavia Beaulieu. "It was designed by Pamela Kellogg and I changed the thread colors. It
wasn't a book mark but a square I made for a {{hugs)) quilt." |
This piece is by Judy Cain.
Kiku Temari.
