Kelly's 2006-2007
President's Challenge
— Artist Trading Cards —

Spark up your creativity in a small but potent way. Artist Trading Cards (ATC) are small packages of beauty which you can exchange with stitching friends all over the world. Kelly's parameters for this Challenge are very simple: the cards must be 2.5" x 3.5" (64 x 89 mm), fit into a trading card sleeve (so think flat), and must be signed on the back (including a date on the back is a good idea, too).

Here's a link to a good article, by our own Rissa. This is focused on CQ ATCs, but the rules apply to all sorts of media.

As an added bonus, our Vice President, Rissa, has pledged to make an ATC for any member who participates in the Challenge. Just post your intention to participate on the Chat4 group, or send Rissa an email about it. She's sharpening up her needles right now!

Challenge FAQ

Q: "How big should the ATCs be?"
A: 2.5" by 3.5" (64 x 89 mm)

Q: "Can I cross-stitch them?"
A: You can do anything: cross-stitch, crazy-quilt, surface stitch, needlepoint, crewel, etc.

Q: "Where can I get trading card sleeves?"
A: First of all, you don't need to provide a sleeve with your card. People who collect them (hopefully, you'll decide to be one of them) will have sleeves and albums to store their treasures. Lots of places on the internet sell these sleeves. Simply Google on "trading card sleeves" and you'll see a large number of sources.

Q: "When are these due?"
A: November is our usual deadline month for a President's Challenge project.

Q: "Will there be an exchange?"
A: Yes. An exchange is being organized after the deadline. The exchange coordinator is Rissa. Contact her if you have exchange questions.
